PhD Student

Prior to doing my MChem Chemistry for Drug Discovery degree at Bath Uni, I worked in a research and development lab in Plymouth analysing contact lenses and their manufacture.
As part of my degree I completed a one year industrial placement at GlaxoSmithKline, Stevenage, working as a mass spectrometrist within the Structural Characterisation group.
After returning from placement, I joined the James group for my final year research project analysing boronic species using techniques such as TLC and fluorescence. I am currently in the first year of my PhD, where I am part of both the James and Marken groups looking at the funcitionalisation of nanomaterials for electrochemical sensor development.
I like pigs, butterflies, tattoos, tea and going out and getting merry!
I hate balloons!
